Trip Overview Annapurna Base Camp

The trek to Annapurna base camp, is a combination of being spiritually soothing and highly adventurous and known as The Annapurna sanctuary trek. It provides a unique cultural experience and takes trekkers very close to nature. However, the big mountain views are still the same as we ascend through villages and terraced farmland to the alpine environments found at the higher elevations around base camp. This is a stunning trek in the heart of the Annapurna range. The Annapurna base camp trek begins with a short drive from Pokhara to Nayalpul. The trek itself takes around 12 days, we start with a trek to Birethanti , this is the entry point of the Annapurna trek. This trekking route is truly appreciated for its high altitude scenery. A diversion from Ghorepani to Tadapani on the way provides a view of Dhaulagiri and Poon hill cover whole Annapurna range.

The Annapurna conservation area preserve nine type of colorful rhododendron and shelter to 100 species of mammals, 60 reptiles and amphibians and more than 450 species of different birds. This beautiful trek combines easy walking with majestic scenery and a mix of cultures unmatched with other treks in Nepal. The trail finally stumbles across moraines and reaches Annapurna sanctuary where we can experience the unimaginable and undeniable views of the Annapurna mountain range.

ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP TREK ITINERARY DETAILS
 

DAY|01| ARRIVE TO KATHMANDU  (1300 METER)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan international airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by of our representatives, who will bring you to your hotel. After you have been settled in at your hotel, our representative will brief you in detail about your travel itinerary. After which, you will be taken on a stroll of the local market. In the evening, we offer you a welcome dinner at a Nepalese restaurant with Nepalese traditional cultural program.


DAY|02| KATHMANDU CITY TOUR  (1300 METER)

Today, you will be taken on an interesting guided tour of Kathmandu city, you will visit historical monuments and religious holy places like temples, Stupas and durbar squares. The rest of the time, we will spend in preparation for Annapurna sanctuary trek.


DAY|03| KATHMANDU TO POKHARA

Drive or fly to Pokhara then couple of hours explore a wonderful natural beauty city. Pokhara is get-way town to trek Annapurna region including Annapurna base camp. Pokhara is itself a popular tourist destination. Travelers can enjoy in the evening in down – town with local cultural programs and their choice foods.


DAY|04| TREK TO TRIKHE-DHUNGA

We leave Pokhara early in the morning, after an hour drive reach to Nayapul and commence our trek to Birethanti a small town situated in the bank of Modi- River, after trekking permit formalities in the check post we continue to trek gradually uphill through the bank of Modi- River towards Tirkhedhunga for overnight.


DAY|05| TREK TO GHOREPANI

Today, it will be pleasant hiking day. At the beginning, we walk through the village with many steps and trace field. We stop for lunch in Bhanthanti. After lunch, we continue our trek through the rhododendron dense forest. Finally, we reach to beautiful village Ghorepani for overnight.


DAY|06| EXPLORE POON HILL AND TREK TO TADAPANI

Very early morning climb to Poon hill at an altitude of 3210 meter. Approximately, it is an hour hiking trip. We can explore Brilliant Mountain views of several snow-capped peaks as well as unobstructed sunrise over the Himalayas from top of the Poon hill. After great exploration back to lodge for breakfast then proceed to walk towards Tadapani for onvernight.


DAY|07| TREK TO CHHOMRONG

At the beginning walk, all the way down through rhododendron forest, trace fields and village then cross the bridge and we will stop in small village for lunch. After lunch break proceed to walk through tinny trail with short ascend and descend to reach to Chhomrong village. Stay overnight at lodge with great view of Annapurna.


DAY|08| TREK TO DEURALI

After breakfast, short walk down to stream then start climb up to Sinuwa village situated under the shadow of Annapurna Himalaya then we enter dense forest with bamboo busess and deep gorge to reach bamboo village for lunch. Further, according to our planned schedule we climb up slowly to Deurali village. It will be exciting stay of the trip.


DAY|09| TREK TO ANNAPURNA BASE CAMP

Early morning take light breakfast then start to walk towards Machhaputchre(fishtail) base camp, known as MBC. Between Deurali to MBC seldom occurs avalanche so we have to cross it before sunshine. The cause of avalanche is snow malting. The MBC surrounded by snow-capped peaks, lunch at MBC with great views then trek to ABC. The trail and surrounding of base camp will covered by snow.


DAY|10| TREK DOWN TO BAMBO

In the morning, we will explore the combine views of paradise and panorama. The Annapurna base camp is not only last destination of the trekking it is also a dream destination of adventure lovers, therefore we can spend the much more time to exploration, photo snap as enjoy the trip. Leisurely, take breakfast the walk down to Bamboo for overnight.


DAY|11| TREK TO JHINU-DANDA (Hot Spring)

Today, at the begin walk through the forest to reach to Sinuwa village then descend to Kimrong Khola then again climb up to Chhomrong village. We will make short tea- break then hike down Jhinu danda. After lunch, we will go to natural hot spring for bath then back to hotel. In the evening celebrate and enjoy as last night in the mountain.


DAY|12| TREK TO NAYAPUL AND DRIVE BACK TO POKHARA 

Wake up, explore mountains, and surrounding as the last moment of the trip, take last breakfast of mountain then hike through all the way down hill and rice field to Nayapul. After lunch in Birethanti or Nayapul drive back to pokhara. In the evening, explore beautiful town and Fewa Lake.


DAY|13| POKHARA TO KATHMANDU

After breakfast, proceed to drive or fly back to Kathmandu. Arrive to Kathmandu with scenic flight of 30 minutes then transfer to hotel. After being refresh visit around Thamel (shopping area) where the locals shop so busy and fascinating. In the evening, participate in farewell dinner. Stay overnight at hotel on B.B basis.


DAY|14| FINAL DEPARTURE

Today ends your Annapurna base camp trekking trip in Nepal. Our representative will take you to the airport 3 hour before than your departure scheduled. If you have more time you can utilize that on your choice for shopping or sightseeing. On your way home, you will have plenty of time to plan your next wonderful trip to Nepal.

BASIC AND ESSENTIAL INFO FOR TREKKING TRIP


Destination Management Inc (DMI) would like kindly inform to our valued visitors/ trekkers’ about the importance of equipments and others information about the trekking trip in Nepal. The trekking equipment means or it indicates to those things, which needed personally for you during the trekking. Due to trekking is a way of travelling in remote and high Himalayas region, the trekkers should be fully equipped for their safety. Trekkers have to manage the following equipment according to their trekking destination.
 

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU (Basic Equipment)


• Sun Hat and Sun Cream
• Woolen cap and glove
• Light sweater or jacket, T-short for during the day

• Sleeping bag & Rain poncho
• Trekking shoes Poly propylene/wool socks

SAFETY & SUCCESS

Our principle is first safety then success so kindly request to all our trekkers, when you start the trip, do not walk alone, always follow the group, do not make ostentatious display of valuable possessions and do not leave lodge door unlocked. Always follows the rules of Acute Mountain Sickness.

 

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD

During the trek, all accommodations will be on twin sharing basis. However, teahouse / lodges of some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities and food will be provided at lodge chose from menu, all types of international cuisine including typical Nepali food. As the trail goes up the water, prices increase. It is possible to use water purification tablets as option.

 

ACCLIMATIZATION 

All trek itineraries are planned with level of awareness of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Altitude sickness is a significant risk when trekking on any trails above 3000meters. You should have to be familiar with the symptoms and do not ignore it. If you or anyone in your group begins to experience symptoms of AMS then do not heisted or delay inform to your group leader (trekking guide).
 

SHOWERS 

In the beginning of trek, you may find running hot water for shower, but as you climb do not expect for daily shower. If want or need to wash your body further on trek, you can ask for bucket of hot water, if it is possible.
 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

This is non-technical trekking route will push you but do not require any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. You will want to be in good physical condition and be able to trek for 5-7 hours daily at altitude.
