Poon hill is popular trekking destination as well best viewpoint of western Nepal situated at an altitude 3210 meter in Annapurna trekking region. Poon hill trek offers endless opportunities to explore culture, nature, outdoor adventure and most breathtaking scenery, picturesque terraced farmland, sweeping valleys, charming villages and colorful rhododendron dens forest. 

Poon hill trek begins with short drive from Pokhara to Nayalpul, then hike to Birethanti, the entrance of of Annapurna reason. The trail follow the Modi River alongside with luxuriant rhododendron forests and bamboo bushes and keeps changing the settings as ascend uphill. This beautiful trek combines easy walking with majestic scenery and mix of cultures unmatched with other treks in Nepal. Finally, we reach to Poon hill where we can experience of unimaginable and undeniable views of the Annapurna mountain range.

ITINERARY DETAILS


DAY|01| ARRIVED TO KATHMANDU (1300 METER)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan international airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by of our representatives, who will bring you to your hotel. After you have been settled in at your hotel, our representative will brief you in detail about your travel itinerary. After which, you will be taken on a stroll of the local market. In the evening, we offer you a welcome dinner at a Nepalese restaurant with Nepalese traditional cultural program.

DAY|02| KATHMANDU CITY TOUR (1300 METER)

Today, you will be taken on an interesting guided tour of Kathmandu city, you will visit historical monuments and religious holy places like temples, Stupas and durbar squares. The rest of the time, we will spend in preparation for trek.

DAY|03| KATHMANDU TO POKHARA (820 METER)

Drive or fly to Pokhara then couple of hours explore a wonderful natural beauty city. Pokhara is get-way town to trek Annapurna region including Annapurna base camp. Pokhara is itself a popular tourist destination. Travelers can enjoy in the evening in down – town with local cultural programs and their choice foods.

DAY|04| TREK TO TIRKHE-DHUNGA (1480 METER)

We leave Pokhara early in the morning, after an hour drive reach to Nayapul and commence our trek to Birethanti a small town situated in the bank of Modi- River, after trekking permit formalities in the check post we continue to trek gradually uphill through the bank of Modi- River towards Tirkhedhunga for overnight.

DAY|05| TREK TO GHOREPANI (2860 METER)

Today, it will be pleasant hiking day. At the beginning, we walk through the village with many steps and trace field. We stop for lunch in Bhanthanti. After lunch, we continue our trek through the rhododendron dense forest. Finally, we reach to beautiful village Ghorepani for overnight.

DAY|06| EXPLORE POON-HILL THEN TREK TO TADAPANI (2630 METER)

Very early morning climb to Poon hill at an altitude of 3210 meter. Approximately, it is an hour hiking trip. We can explore Brilliant Mountain views of several snow-capped peaks as well as unobstructed sunrise over the Himalayas from top of the Poon hill. After great exploration back to lodge for breakfast then proceed to walk towards Tadapani for onvernight.

DAY|07| TREK TO GHANDRUK VILLAGE (1940 METER)

From Tadapani, trail descends through rhododendron forests and orchid colonies to the pretty Gurung town of Ghandruk, where the Annapurna range and Machhapuchhare dominate the mountain views, although glimpses of Lamjung Himal and the Manaslu range can also be seen further east. After lunch visit the Gurung Culture Museum, as well as take time to explore the village

DAY|08| TREK TO NAYAPUL THEN DRIVE TO POKHARA

Wake up, explore mountains, and surrounding as the last moment of the trip, take last breakfast of mountain then hike through all the way down hill and rice field to Nayapul. After lunch in Birethanti or Nayapul drive back to pokhara. In the evening, explore beautiful town and Fewa Lake.

DAY|09| POKHARA TO KATHMANDU

After breakfast, drive or fly back to Kathmandu. Arrive to Kathmandu with scenic drive (7 hours)/flight (30 minutes) then transfer to hotel. After being refresh visit around Thamel (shopping area) where the locals shop so busy and fascinating. In the evening, participate in farewell dinner. Stay overnight at hotel on B.B basis.

DAY|10| FINAL DEPARTURE

Today ends your Everest panorama trekking trip in Nepal. Our representative will take you to the airport 3 hour before than your departure scheduled. If you have more time you can utilize that on your choice for shopping or sightseeing. On your way home, you will have plenty of time to plan your next wonderful trip to Nepal.

BASIC & ESSENTIAL INFO FOR TREKKING TRIP


Destination Management Inc (DMI) would like kindly inform to our valued visitors/ trekkers’ about the importance of equipments and others information about the trekking trip in Nepal. The trekking equipment means or it indicates to those things, which needed personally for you during the trekking. Due to trekking is a way of travelling in remote and high Himalayas region, the trekkers should be fully equipped for their safety. Trekkers have to manage the following equipment according to their trekking destination.

WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU (Basic Equipment)

• Sun Hat and Sun Cream
• Woolen cap and glove
• Light sweater or jacket, T-short for during the day
• Warm jacket, paints
• Sleeping bag & Rain poncho
• Trekking shoes Poly propylene/wool socks
• Swiss knife
• Big backpack and rain cover for it
• Small backpack,
• Sandals for shower,
• Flashlight & spare batteries
• Reading book, Pen & Note book
• Sunglasses, sun screen & camera etc.

SAFETY & SUCCESS

Our principle is first safety then success so kindly request to all our trekkers, when you start the trip, do not walk alone, always follow the group, do not make ostentatious display of valuable possessions and do not leave lodge door unlocked. Always follows the rules of Acute Mountain Sickness.

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD

During the trek, all accommodations will be on twin sharing basis. However, teahouse / lodges of some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities and food will be provided at lodge chose from menu, all types of international cuisine including typical Nepali food. As the trail goes up the water, prices increase. It is possible to use water purification tablets as option.

SHOWER

In the beginning of trek, you may find running hot water for shower, but as you climb do not expect for daily shower. If want or need to wash your body further on trek, you can ask for bucket of hot water, if it is possible.

ACCLIMATIZATION

All trek itineraries are planned with level of awareness of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Altitude sickness is a significant risk when trekking on any trails above 3000meters. You should have to be familiar with the symptoms and do not ignore it. If you or anyone in your group begins to experience symptoms of AMS then do not heisted or delay inform to your group leader (trekking guide).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is non-technical trekking route will push you but do not require any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. You will want to be in good physical condition and be able to trek for 5-7 hours daily at altitude.

INSURANCE

Insurance policy should cover for helicopter evacuation expenses in the eventuality of a serious illness or accident. The insurance should also cover for possible evacuation in case of getting stranded in remote airfield due to bad weather condition.
