The Gokyo Lake with Renjo –la pass trek is a challenging and adventure trekking route with magnificent views of the snowy peaks. The trek to the high alpine Gokyo Lake and a traverse of Renjo - la links the stunning Gokyo valley. The trail of Gokyo and Renjo- La trek  gives a different experience of trekking in Everest region. This trekking route pass through the rhododendron and conifer forest to the yak herders' settlements of sacred lakes of Gokyo and Gokyo Ri to savor the majestic views of Lhotse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Everest and many more hovering in horizon.The landscape of the area covers, rugged rocky valleys, alpine forests, Glaciers and icefalls. The most prominent Glacier in the area is the Khumbu Glacier known as Khumbu icefall.

DAY|01|  ARRIVED TO KATHMANDU (1300 METER)

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan international airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by of our representatives, who will bring you to your hotel. After you have been settled in at your hotel, our representative will brief you in detail about your travel itinerary. After which, you will be taken on a stroll of the local market. In the evening, we offer you a welcome dinner at a Nepalese restaurant with Nepalese traditional cultural program.
 

DAY|02|  KATHMANDU CITY TOUR (1300 METER)

Today, you will be taken on an interesting guided tour of Kathmandu city, you will visit historical monuments and religious holy places like temples, Stupas and durbar squares. The rest of the time, we will spend in preparation for trek.
 

DAY|03| FLY TO LUKLA (2840 M) TREK TO PHAKDING (2700 METER)

Pass directly through the village of lukla and follow the path to Namache. The first village after Lukla is Chhpelung, and and further down the trail, you will pass through Ghat and Phakding. Both these villages have a good selection for food & accommodations and are conveniently located for lunch break. However if you still have stamina, it is advisable to walk on to Monju to spend the night as this will give you a good start for the steep ascent to Namache the following morning.
 

DAY|04|  TREK TO NAMCHE BAZAAR (3440 METER)

After passing through the Sagarmatha National park entrance, the trail passes through the village of Jorsale and then along the river. You will cross two bridges before beginning the steep ascent to Namache, which can take up to three hour to complete. Be aware that there are no teahouses or lodges on this path, so ensure that you have ample water to get you to the top. You are now heading into a high altitude area and take it easy. Even the fittest people are prone to altitude sickness.
 

DAY|05|  REST DAY IN NAMCHE BAZAAR

Today is rest day in Namache Bazaar for altitude acclimatization in Namache. During the rest day to acclimatization, we will visit few nearest villages for cultural experience. Khumjung village (3790m) is over the hill behind the Namache bazaar and takes about 2 hours to reach. There are several sites in the village. Khunde is a short walk from Khumjung. After a steep climb, we will arrive at an airstrip. Cross this and rejoin the path at the other side. After a short distance, we will pass a stupa. Thame (3750m)is a more traditional next village on the trail, and a good place to take lunch. Thame is home to one of Khumbu’s oldest monasteries.
 

DAY|06|  TREK TO THAME (3820 METER)

This day is meant for acclimatization and hence we do not embark on any serious trekking. Instead we go to a slightly lower altitude of Thame, the birthplace of Tenzing Norgay, the first man on Everest. We conduct some sightseeing of the monastery there and generally rest.
 

DAY|07|  TREK TO TARANGA/ LUNGDEN 

Today we start our serious high altitude trekking. We walk for about 4 hours through a stunning landscape on an old trade route to Tibet to the village of Lungden. This village has only one lodge and very aptly called the Renjo La Support Lodge.
 

DAY|08|  CROSS RENJO- LA PASS  (5435 METER) TREK TO GOKYO (4750 METER)

The big day starts real early and it is a long day, as we have to walk about 5 hours to reach the pass, going slow because of the high altitude. After a brief stopover to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Everest Range and take photographs, we start on a remarkably difficult downhill journey for about 3 hours to reach the village of Gokyo walk along the stunning and beautiful Dudh Kunda (Milk Lake)
 

DAY|09|  GOKYO-RI (GOKYO PEAK) EXCURSION RETURN GOKYO

The foot of Gokyo Ri lies five minutes away from the stream the feeds the Gokyo Lake. After two to three hours walk you reach the summit not to be disappointed for your effort at all, as the views from here are well worth the effort you put in. Everest (8848m), showing more of it's northern flank than from Kalapatthar, with Makalu (8475m) further to the east and Cho Oyu (8153m) towards the north make a mesmerizing view to watch. Return to Gokyo Ri after spending a wonderful break at the summit.
 

DAY|10|  GOKYO TO THANGA (DRANGNAG (4700 METER)

From Gokyo the trail descends, looking at the views of the fine mountains and natural beauty, towards Thangna which is consider as the base of Cho -La Pass (5330m) .
 

DAY|11|  THANGA ( CHO -LA PASS 5330 M) TO DZONGLHA (4830 METER)

Today the trail descends again and leads you across the moraine, to the glacier which you must cross. From here you can see a beautiful view of the icefall before you reach Dzongla.
 

DAY|12|  DZONGLHA TO LOBUCHE (4920 METER)

The trail continues along the moraine from Dzongla affording you splendid views of Kala Pattar and Pumori before you reach Lobuche.
 

DAY|13| LOBUCHE TO GORAK - SHEP  

The trail from Lobuche follows a route, which is surrounding by mountains. After a gradual climb, you will reach Gorak Shep that is also surrounding by mountains. Guide will take you along the undulating trail to this much-coveted place to EBC. From here, you can observe the blue ice and the Khumbu icefall. This trekking will be an unforgettable experience in your lifetime. Head back to Gorek Shep.
 

DAY|14|  GORAK - SHEP TO PHERICHE

The early morning there’s the an opportunity to make the steady climb to the superior summit of Kalar Patar (5545m), the rocky outcrop which towers above Everest Base Camp. The views from Kalar Patar are breathtaking better than Base Camp itself; Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and numerous other peaks are visible. After descending from the peak we continue our walk descent to Pheriche for overnight.
 

DAY|15|  PHERIHE TO NAMCHE BAZAAR  

Departure the mountains behind us our descent takes us through Tengboche Monastery at elevation of 3860 meters before continuing back to the town of Namche Bazaar. We arrive back into Namche Bazaar in the afternoon and rests of time explore the village.
 

DAY|16| NAMCHE BAZAAR TO LUKLA 

After breakfast finally we return to Lukla where the trek began. Enjoying time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. Also giving you time to explore the town.
 

DAY|17|  LUKLA TO KATHMANDU  

Early morning after breakfast fly back to Kathmandu. Enjoying your last glance of the mountains, you have recently visited for one last time on the 35-minute Scenic flight back to Kathmandu. Stay overnight at hotel with breakfast included.
 

DAY|18|  RREE DAY IN KATHMANDU 

Free day to explore this fascinating city and medieval feel still pervades and there are temples at every turn, last movement shopping. In the evening, we offer Nepalese dinner with cultural program. Stay overnight at hotel with breakfast included.
 

DAY|20| DEPARTURE   

Transfer to Airport for final departure.

BASIC & ESSENTIAL INFO FOR TREK 

Destination Management Inc (DMI) would like kindly inform to our valued visitors/ trekkers’ about the importance of equipments and others information about the trekking trip in Nepal. The trekking equipment means or it indicates to those things, which needed personally for you during the trekking. Due to trekking is a way of travelling in remote and high Himalayas region, the trekkers should be fully equipped for their safety. Trekkers have to manage the following equipment according to their trekking destination.

SAFE ARRANGEMENT

Our principle is first safety than success so kindly request to all our trekkers, when you start the trip, do not walk alone, always follow the group, do not make ostentatious display of valuable possessions and do not leave lodge door unlocked. Always follows the rules of Acute Mountain Sickness.

ACCOMMODATION & FOOD

During the trek, all accommodations will be on twin sharing basis. However, teahouse / lodges of some places only have shared washing and toilet facilities and food will be provided at lodge chose from menu, all types of international cuisine including typical Nepali food. As the trail goes up the water, prices increase. It is possible to use water purification tablets as option.

ACCLIMATIZATION 

All trek itineraries are planned with level of awareness of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). Altitude sickness is a significant risk when trekking on any trails above 3000meters. You should have to be familiar with the symptoms and do not ignore it. If you or anyone in your group begins to experience symptoms of AMS then do not heisted or delay inform to your group leader (trekking guide).


SHOWER

In the beginning of trek, you may find running hot water for shower, but as you climb do not expect for daily shower. If want or need to wash your body further on trek, you can ask for bucket of hot water, if it is possible.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

This is non-technical trekking route will push you but do not require any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. You will want to be in good physical condition and be able to trek for 5-7 hours daily at altitude.
