Rafting in Nepal

Nepal has made a standard as one of the best destinations in the world for white water rafting. The thundering waters, coming from the glaciers of the mighty Himalaya, provide unmatched thrills for rafting and immersing oneself in the landscape. Rivers are graded on a scale of one to six.
 

Best time for rafting in Nepal

For rafting October through mid- December and March through early May are the best times. In this time, rafters can enjoy great mountain views, clear sky and rewarding natural scenery. In winter, rafters should certainly expect cold water and perhaps think in terms of wet suits and dry tops.

Grade: White water river rafting has an internationally recognized grading scale as follows.

Grade 1: flat water (little current) These types of rivers are flat and slow moving. A river with a 1 grade listed will have some flat spots. A completely 1st graded river will be totally flat. This kind of river is good for sightseeing and relaxing.
 

Grade 2: Bubbling current (small rapid) A grade 2 river has swifter current and some small rapids.

Grade 3: Technical & exciting (needs trained guide)In a grade 3rd river, the rapids are becoming more serious and technical. Grade III above can only be rafted with trained guide. This is a fun river with lots of excitement.
 

Grade 4: Seriously big rapids: This is where the adrenaline gets going grade IV River has a fast moving current with many big drops and rapids. This kind of river.

Grade 5: The hair-raising limit: This is a serious not for the faint hearted, with a torrent like current and huge rapids this is the ultimate in white water adventure.
 

Guide:The guides are skilled outdoorsmen, superb chefs and great companions. Apart from their river skill, these guides love what they do and their good humor and friendly. Also they are trained to international standards and have spent several years rowing for leading rafting companies.
 

Food: As a member of the guiding team, a cook prepares delicious and healthy meals to keep the rafters tummy well fueled along the trip. The cook is qualified, knows all the precautions to take when cooking for travelers, and ensures a standard of food hygiene. He will cook for them a variety of meals during the campfire and at the end of the rafting trail.
 

Accommodation: Rafting is a fully supported adventure. It includes camping. Campsites will be on the riverbanks, normally on sandy beaches. Tents and basic sleeping mats will be supplied. As most rivers are away from the roads, the rafting team brings all the equipment and food along with them. They will set up the campsite with kitchen and dining area, a campfire for the nighttime and toilet facilities.
 

Trishuli River Rafting ( Grade 3 / 4)

Trishuli River is a most popular river for day trip rafting due to nearest and easily accessible river either that from Kathmandu or Pokhara, located just 3 hours drive from Kathmandu. this river can be made for a diverse durations, depending upon the availability of time and interest. The Trishuli is an excellent river for those looking for a short trip, without the challenge of huge rapids, but with beautiful scenery and a relatively peaceful environment.
Day 01: Kathmandu/Rafting/Kathmandu or Pokhara
Early morning at 07.00 am depart from Kathmandu by tourist bus.
3 hours bus journey to rafting starting place called Charaudi.
4 hours exciting white water rafting then lunch break.
After lunch we arrange public transport to your desire destination.

Seti River 2 days (Grade 3)

The warm and beautiful Seti river passes through stunning jungle scenery, green hills and valleys. Seti River offers 2 to 3+ class rapid, incredible scenery, Mild River attracting bird watchers and those interested in the abundance of nature found on this trip. The trip starts from Damauli. It is 5 hours drive from Kathmandu and an hour from Pokhara. The trip end at Gaighat is approximately 4 hours to both Kathmandu /Pokhara and an hour to Chitwan. Its swollen rapids prove an exciting test for experienced rafters and kayakers.

Day: 01: Kathmandu to Damauli
At 07.00 am depart by tourist bus takes 5 hours.
First day rafting will be 4 /5 hours including lunch break.
Overnight at tent with camp fire, include dinner.
Second day after breakfast 4 /5 hours rafting then lunch.
After lunch we arrange public transport to your desire destination.

Bhote Koshi River: 2 days (Grade 4/5)

The Bhote Koshi is regarded as one of the best short white water rafting trips in the world. The river drops steeply offering relentless stretches of class III-V grade river rafting. Boulder gardens, small waterfalls, steep chutes and 90 degree bends are just some of the obstacles to be overcome. This river is not typical of the big volume waters of the Himalayan; it is steep and technical and requires a reactive crew. This is an ideal trip for those wanting a short but intense and thrilling rafting trip.
Day 01: Kathmandu to Barabise
At 07.30 am depart by bus or van takes 3 hours.
First day rafting will be 4 /5 hours including lunch break.
Overnight at tent with camp fire, include dinner.
Second day after breakfast 4 /5 hours rafting then lunch.
After lunch drive back to Kathmandu.

Kali Gandaki River: 3 days (Grade 3/4.)

The Kali Gandaki is located western part of Nepal. It is a selective river for an adventure river rafting. The journey descends through challenging white water, unique cultures and amazing beaches. The beautiful scenery on this remote river makes it a favorite among those looking for a short to medium length trip. When not negotiating rapids, time on the river can be spent under cascading waterfalls and enjoying the backdrop of the Annapurna Himalaya ranges. The trip begins and ends in Pokhara.
Day 01: Pokhara to Beni
Depart at 7.30 am drive by bus or van with the stunning views of the Annapurna & Dhaulagiri as well as fishtails mountain. Today at the beginning, class 3 rapids, after 15 minutes two big class 4 rapids encountered. Overnight at tent with camp fire and candle light dinner.
Day 02: Rafting
Start down the river for day mixed with adrenaline calm and spectacular scenery including many class 3 section and the challenging class 4 rapids will be encounter. Overnight at tent with camp fire and candle light dinner.
Day 03: back to Pokhara
Early morning breakfast and raft to the holy village of Seti Beni. Observe a big size boulder in the confluence with a smaller tributary. After lunch, commence raft to reach to ending place, where the bus is waiting to drive back to Pokhara.
